sunday in london

where do the days go, these summer days have been hot ones. work work work, not complaining, just sayin'.

but i wanted to post some pictures, from a few weeks back, way back it feels now. my good friend Lucy, she was my tour guide in London for the day. some good spots she knows, Albion for brunchy treats, Columbia Road Flower Market, Brick Lane for vintage and bagels (not pictured unfortunately), and finally Old Spitalfields market.

oh yum we had some good eats this day, and it was the beginning of the heatwave, sunshine on our shoulders.  as we approached Columbia Road i especially loved seeing people streaming away carrying armloads of hydrangeas and peonies - my favourite part of the day, thanks Lucy !

i finally had a saturday off, so of course we had to go camping. sun and cloud mix, but we drove to cornwall anyway. english camping is a bit strange, large square fields, not a tree in sight. but brits know about their wind breaks and deck chairs, and worst case, there is always a pub. always!

st ives harbor was an icy blue, bright turquoise waters and deep grey skies. windy just the way he likes, and i caught up on my reading. 

pre-birthday

early gifts, and today i finally am in no rush. awake at 6am, still, this new florist body-clock, i don't even mind really.

and now i wait for my shoes to be delivered! work shoes, but still, a special delivery still counts.

ride on / right on

the weather said sunny in the morning, so we got up. i have been up at 6 regardless, but this time the sky was clear.
he mentioned wild garlic, and then we just found some, off the path to the left. so i stuffed my pockets full, and hoped it wouldn't stink up my coat forever. up a hill, over a farm and back down.
at the end of our hike we ate ice creams in the cold, that's it, i'm finally proper british now.
we made garlic pesto, and my lovely friend brought wine. so much garlic! but so good, and free.
